Summary of Position

Location: Weston, WI
Status: Full Time Position

Responsible for creating and loading advanced programs, setups, tool changes, and operating all Saw-Mill-Drill-Department equipment with an advanced level of quality and productivity by performing the following duties.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Sets up work area for efficient processing and maximum throughput of jobs.*
  2. Writes and/or loads both simple and complex programs, selects appropriate tooling/blades, develops fixtures for, and takes any other steps necessary to set up assigned jobs.*
  3. Ensures that parts are quickly processed, counted, and stacked in the best possible fashion for the following operation.*
  4. Maintains awareness of estimated production standard processing time and alerts supervisor when time is unachievable.*
  5. Ensures that parts are quickly delivered to the following operation.*
  6. Ensures that parts are correct according to the print and/or traveler.*
  7. Monitors machine operation and quality of parts and makes machine adjustments as necessary.*
  8. Reads, understands, and implements all information and instructions included on job travelers and technical drawings.*
  9. Responsible for the proper completion of all manufacturing and inspection documentation as required by company policies.*
  10. Identifies visual and dimensional defects and ensures that potential problems are effectively communicated to the department lead or the supervisor.*
  11. Contributes to any team to ensure consistent product and cooperative communication.*
  12. Identifies and/or cooperates with the potential opportunities for improvement in efficiency, utilization, productivity, and cost reduction strategies.*
  13. Responsible for the proper completion of all manufacturing and inspection documentation as required by company policies.*
  14. Contributes to any team with which you are working to ensure consistent product and cooperative communication.
  15. Responsible for absolute compliance with safety and PPE requirements.
  16. Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  17. Strives to assume the company’s commitments as your own and fulfills them with a sense of pride and urgency.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities / Essential Functions

  • Familiarity with geometry and trigonometry as necessary in order to ensure proper understanding and setup of complex machining operations
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with others in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to focus and stay productive without direct supervision
  • Ability to perform beyond the minimum job requirements and expectations
  • Ability to operate deburring and other equipment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to take ownership of your decisions and take responsibility for their outcome
  • Advanced understanding of current department machine componentry, tooling, and interface software and have the ability to keep the machines operating at an advanced level
  • Advanced understanding of the safety limitations of department machines
  • Advanced understanding of commonly used sheet metal, tubing, and shaped material sizes and alloys and their properties as relative to departmental machinery
  • Ability to travel when required
